Patrick Donley

I am a sculptor, musician, and "whim-sologist".  I have made my reputation through colorful, collage-laden, abstract paintings. In the late 90's, I took a break from visual art to perform and record with the band Jakeleg.  Once back in my studio, I made an artistic about-face, and began producing wall-mounted, found-object sculptures.  My most recent work, The Memento Series, represents an attempt to marry my love of paint with my vast, obsessive collection of found objects and photos.  It is a melding of two and three dimensions, a combination of my interest in inventing a narrative with my need to create order out of chaos (what I call my studio).
